Since 1983, thousands of legal professionals have relied on the advice and counsel of Alan R. Stone and his legal recruiting team. As the first practicing attorney to establish a legal recruiting firm in New England, Alan took a boutique Boston-based firm and expanded into key additional markets including New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago and South Florida and grew his firm to over 50 internal employees. The success of Stone Legal Resources Group culminated in a 1999 acquisition by a publicly-held, global staffing firm.

In 2005, Alan took a leave from legal recruiting to help create the Worcester Tornadoes, an independent minor league baseball team. For several years, Alan "lived the dream" of actively managing team operations, even winning a CanAm League championship in the team's first year.

But the opportunities and challenges of legal recruiting, Alan's core passion, beckoned, and Alan reemerged in 2009 with a team of committed professionals to form Stone Legal LLC. Through the years, Alan's personal warmth, high energy and uncanny matchmaking skills have set the standard in legal recruiting. The members of Stone Legal LLC join Alan in bringing a renewed spirit and commitment to honoring that standard each day.

Alan holds a BA from Tufts University, an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a JD from Boston College Law School.

After 15+ years co-founding and scaling a dynamic range of start-up companies, Mike is excited to bring his passions for strategy and career consulting to Stone Legal.

While a Senior at Tufts, Mike co-founded Abroad101, the first and largest study abroad review website, where he led sales, marketing, and business development from launch through acquisition. With a career spanning from Tel Aviv to New York City, he has launched US operations for numerous international startups before returning to Boston to join the family business he has enthusiastically apprenticed for decades.

Mike takes after Alan as a natural, organic, and approachable connector who enjoys thoughtfully getting to know each candidate and hiring firm alike. By humanizing and personalizing each stage of the recruiting process, he is able to unearth the unique individual behind the resumé and job description to facilitate the most meaningful long-term placements.
